InFO Issued for Gates Products Not Designed for Aircraft Use
« on: December 17, 2015, 08:11:52 AM »

The FAA’s Aircraft Maintenance Division last June issued Information for Operators (InFO) bulletin 15007 that informs operators and repair facilities of potential failures of Gates products that are not designed for aviation use and that are currently being used in multiple aviation applications.

Operators and repair facilities are urged to become familiar with the Gates Catalog Aircraft Policy in order to reduce the risk of accidents caused by belts not intended for aircraft use.

The InFO was prompted by an accident involving a Rotorway Exec 162-F helicopter that experienced a main rotor belt failure manufactured by Gates. For more information, see the InFo at http://go.usa.gov/cBuUP.
