St. Lucie County Launches Redesigned Website
FORT PIERCE – St. Lucie County’s Office of Media Relations recently unveiled a new look for the Board of County Commissioners’ website.
The newly redesigned website (www.stlucieco.gov
) was created to meet the ever-increasing use of mobile and tablet devices. Utilizing the expertise of Vision Internet, St. Lucie County’s new site features a content management system that incorporates “responsive design,” providing better access to webpages via smart phones and tablets.
“St. Lucie County’s website was last redesigned in 2005. A lot has changed in 10 years, especially the way people access the internet and consume information, particularly with tablets, smart phones, apps and social media,” said St. Lucie County Public Information Manager Erick Gill. “As technology changes, we must continue to adapt and reach our growing diverse audience where they are, so that we can provide important public health and safety issues, but also inform residents and tourists about activities at our libraries, parks and environmental preserves and education centers.”
Through its new partnership with Vision Internet, which specializes in creating websites for local governments, St. Lucie County’s staff will have easier access to make updates and changes to its website, along with receiving regular upgrades to Vision’s content management system.
Earlier this year, St. Lucie County created a social media presence (Facebook www.facebook.com/StLucieGOV
and Twitter @StLucieGOV), which can be access via the new website.
